we are providing hand held metal detectors to parties on rent and the customers is asking us to charge kvat instead of service tax as no service is involed kindly advice me this matter

Mr.Altaf, service tax is applicable here not VAT.
BUT ALL OTHER PARTIES THEY ARE CHARING THEM VAT ONLY
