I sale Agro products i.e. Wheat, Rice, Jawari etc on commission basis i.e. goods on behalf of my principal i.e. on consignment basis.
Whether Service Tax applicable to me or not ?

Dear friend,
In my opinion, there is no specific exemptions for sale of agricultural commodities on commission basis. Earlier there was exemption to commission agents via a circular issued in year 2003. However after negative list & mega notification No. 25/2012, there is no specific exptions to commission agent. The only relief is available to Small Service Provided up to service value Rs. 10,00,000/-.
OK.
That means, if I am having commission income below 10L than there is no need to charge service tax at all.
