Service tax on doctors contracted by hospitals

760 views 1 replies

Dear Forum Member,

One of my clients who is a doctor, is working in some hospital on contractual basis (not on salary) and gets fixed contractual income monthly with TDS deduction of 10% i.e. for professionals and such payment is more than Rs.20 lakh per annum.

Now the querry is if he falls under the service tax net or if he is covered under the exempted services which include clinical practice by a medical practitioner.

Much appreciate if i can get reply fast as to make disclosure under VCES-2013 if required.

Thanks.
