19 November 2011Please tell me how we can calculate VAT on IT products where Service Tax is also applicable. Please give me the section no. as well as rule no. if any just for my reference.
I am in a situation that party charged VAT under MVAT Act on service tax also.

Yes, in the IT product, Service Tax and Vat boths are applicable.

Thanks Sir. But I want to know that can we charge the VAT on Service Tax amount included in the bills which is seperatly shown in bill..

Vat, will not be charged on service tax amount.
