You may go for TN Manoharan books for Service Tax & VAT it is very helpfull for Self Study
icai module is enough for service tax and vat preparation.
i didnot find the icai material quite useful for vat and st preparation,
prefer manohar's and mophammed rafis buk, with lots of explanations and solved examples
any 1 plz let me know d amendments been done in service tax and vat for november 2012 attempt??
I think U shud first study the modules, once they r complete then follow books
