Self assessment tax

Efiling 423 views 2 replies

Hi,

I had to file a self-assessment tax of Rs170 (under Challan 280) for my income tax return (ITR) filing. Instead, I paid this amount under Challan 281. Is there any way to get this amount refunded? If, I give both the CIN numbers (generated under 280 and 281) in my ITR filing, would the amount under Challan 281 get refunded?

Thanks

Mr.Sanjay

Online payment of Self Assmt Tax under challan 281 is not posssible, because it will ask for TAN no. and not PAN no.

But If you paid manually and submit to bank, then kindly contact the bank official for rectification.

Any either case you will get the refund for excess paid through rectification request letter to CPC or Your AO.

there is not any option to refund this amount from the income tax department . dont take tension its a nominal amount bear it as lose.
