Selection of Articles

Articleship 615 views 3 replies

Hello , i wanna share one thing about selection of articles by firms, as our articleship is not job it is a professional training which should be trained by independent person so  I  think our admission of articleship be on centrally controled by ICAI means the articles will get firms according to marks scored (like admission on colleges is on cut off basis ) because many students get selected in good firms because of their cool references and many bright students after trying a lot will have to face troubles and second thing it will completely stop of dummies activity, Although it will be difficult for icai to complie the data of firms vacancies and students availability but its not impossible, anyway plz share some important view on this

yes agree with u.........ICAI should do this

I do not think that marks scored is any indicator of capability of a person in terms of his ability to take leadership for tasks, knowledge and analytical skills.

When firms select articles, marks is just one small aspect which firms look at. Besides marks, firms also look at character, communication skills, passion etc.

Corporate world is not a place where everyone is looking only for marks.

And I dont think there is any harm in people using references to get articleship. Infact those who have good academics and didnt get good articleship firm should take it as a learning lesson and realise that to do well in life, one thing doesnt work.

To know more about what I am saying see my blog kraichura.caclubindia.com/blog. I have written an article on "The Buffet style of doing well in life" and "Personal Branding". I am sure both these articles will give you good insights and help you to develop a broad mindset and realise that taking recruiting decisions only and only on basis of marks can prove to be fatal for the organisation.

only marks cannot be the creteria for good firms. many a times it happens that a student with very good marks doesn't have that nice a personality and practical background.
