Yes, Mr. X can claim both the expenditure as deduction under section 80DD.

There is also a limit of maximum claim can be made of Rs.50000 but if the person is having severe disability, then Rs.100000/-.

Hi,

Want to clarify one thing. Medical Insurance cannot be claimed as nothing of sorts is mentioned in Sec 80DD. Although you can take benefit of treatment expenses u/s 80DDB, but i have a doubt that mediclaim cannot be claimed as deduction.

Still, will wait for others to clarify.

Respected Prateek Sir,

Let's Ignore about Mediclaim, but Medical Expenses paid for Mentally Handicapped Brother is Allowed for Deduction...

Are You Sure Sir....

Thank You.....

Yes..medical expenses paid are allowed. Not Mediclaim.

I am sure about that.

Respected Prateek Sir,

Any Additional Documents Required for Getting the Benefit?
