Can i avail the tax benifit under section 80c if I deposit some amount into my wife 's ppf account

No...
PPF account related components can be deductible under individual account only. It's mean account holder only.

No deduction will be available to the husband.

But in some website it is mentioned that one can claim provided dual benefit cannot be taken

No... Based on IT it's allowed to Account Holder.
