Section 2 of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 1976 - Definitions - Notified Agencies

Whereas, the Central Government has specified, under sub-clause (ii) of clause (e) of sub-section (1) of section 2 of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 1976 (49 of 1976), certain agencies of the United Nations and other international organisations not to be treated as foreign source for the purpose of the said Act, vide its notification number S.O. 1014 (E), dated the 13th November, 2000;
Now, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-clause (ii) of clause (e) of sub-section (1) of section 2 of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 1976, the Central Government, hereby specifies that the following agencies of the United Nations and other international agencies and organisations shall not be treated as foreign source for the purposes of the said Act; and for that purpose makes the following amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Home Affairs, number. S.O. 1014 (E), dated the 13th November, 2000, namely :
In the said notification, after the serial number 104 and the entries relating thereto, the following serial numbers and entries shall be inserted, namely:—
“105.    World Trade Organisation (WTO), Geneva, Switzerland.
106.     International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), Geneva, Switzerland.
107.     Common Fund for Commodities (CFC), Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
108.     International Cotton Advisory Committee, Washington, United States of America.
109.     The Global Fund to Fight AIDS Tuberculosis and Malaria, Geneva, Switzerland.
