since compiler on ICAI website is up to Nov 2014
& whether solutions in scanner is of institute or of any author...

yes they are useful
Dont refer scanner for practical paper there are lot of discrepency there, If your preaparation is complete you can refer and can find wrong thing.
Refer for theory Papers plus latest Practice Manual

In law also there are mistakes in scanner ... So don't refer for law too ... I just wasted ma money
Scanners have huge mistakes. Download the suggested answers from May 15 and onwards. Use comolier upto Nov 14.
Now Scanner have improved and they are regularly updated as per the amendments and notifications. And Scanner had slashed their price . Hence it is worth buying scanner now. Now it is more economical than photocopy.
