Sardar Sarovar Bond Redemption

Dear all,

I want to have clarification from my learned friends. I have Sardar Sarovar DDB which was allotted by Govt. of Gujarat in 1995 which was expected to mature in 2014. But due to some changes in policy govt. decided to close this scheme in 2009 by giving all the bond hlder an amount of about 50000/-. My last year net profit as an individual was Rs. 125000/- only. I come to know there is a way to save the tds or tax as a whole  (if it applicable to me) by gifting theis bond to my relative with blood relation who may not have taxable income. By this way I can get myself out of the LOSS of tax.

Is it true and if not please throw some light over the issue

My youger brother is having a certificate gifted by our uncle. The Certificate name has not been trasferred in the name of my younger brother.My brother is having full discharge to transfer the name . How many days will take to transfer the name and where should i send the certificate .

Sir,

Is it compulsory to redeem Narmada Nigam Bond? If i Don't want to give back it, what will be effect it to me?

What is process of gifting it to any blood relation person?

Free:

This is same as gifting any money or like to your relatives. TDS is deducted on interest but if the receiver's income is  less than taxable limites they can submit for 15G for the same.

I have got Sardar Sarovar Deep DIScount Bond Redemption amount. But meanwhile i have learned that some bond holders have approched Gujarat High Court against Nigam Redemption proceeding. Howevr, Hon. High Court has not given stay another statutory body SEBI too has aired negative remark against redemption process. We comman man were totally in dark of all such matters and as SSSNL forced its mandate we obliged and now we have redemption cheque with us. What shall we do? What is latest position of High Court proceeding on the case. Happy NEw year to all learned memebrs of club

Sir,
     I am subhash singh jadon.My mother Mrs. Madhuri jadon w/o Mr. Jasvant singh jadon is having a ssnnl deep discount bond.
Details-:
folio no.- SN 500215
certificate no.-525231
no. of bonds-1
I have send it for redemption to ssnnl by speed post with all required papers according to the notice before 12 dec 2008.My father is in PNB chetakpuri gwalior.
His colligue is also having some bonds and he has got the check of  50,000/-  on one bond by post 10 days ago.But we have not got our check yet.So please kindly pay attention to my mail and tell me the status of our bond.
