Hi lavanya,

SAP is a good choice. after completing it you either go as a consultant or you can even work in MNC.

Also, if you see the vacancy advertisement now most of the companies are asking for SAP.

It is good option pursue it from SIEMENS, i think they are also helping for placements after completing the course.

This is just my personal opinion.

see What  our Institute conducts is a certified course you will get certificate directly from SAP Germany once you pass online exam You get placements even in IBM as a Packaged Solution Consultant FICO .SIEMENS Coaching also similar to that but costlier where you get some implementation experience which our institute does not provide

if u do SAP then there is no diff CA and soft ware enfgineer

all ur efforts of 5 or 6 efforts of getting CA certificate of no use

this is my opinion

i will invite other vies also

here al there for help only

dnt use these words You can add me as a friend that is not good as a professional

In SAP there are 2 types of work environment

1. Enduser

2. Implementation level

If u become implementation  expert u have good opportunites in India and abroad.

Hi Lavanya,

It is the good option if u r thinking for it.

You will be absorbed as an SAP Functional Consultant for the FI-CO module.

Here your job profile would be to understand the client's need and convey it to developers. You will work as a bridge between the client and programmer. For almost every client IT-company has to make commercial application and to understand what is actually the need of that client, functional experts are required.

But before that I would suggest you to gain some more industry experience being a CA only. One or Two years experience will make your resume better.

 Hello Balaji,

Thanks for the reply.Seimens seems an expensive affair

Online they are charging now Rs.1,60,000 per module(FI or CO) and for classroom coaching(after service tax) they charge Rs.3,00,000 and in addition Rs.30,000 for certified exam.

On the otherhand,ICAI gives the thing for Rs.96,000 only per module.

Your opinion on this? Do you know anyone who has done SAP from either SEIMENS or ICAI?

1. Does ICAI conduct for both FI and CO modules? or is it only for FI module? Please explain.

2. Nowadays SAP is conducted only at a few ATCs and the rest who conduct are doing it illegally(SAP conducts regular raids/checks on such unauthorized education centres teaching SAP).So,even in SEIMENS like ICAI the certificate is from Germany.

3. Do you know anyone who has got placements after finishing the online e-learning(ICAI offers only e-learning not classroom coaching) from ICAI?

4. ICAI does not gaurantee any jobs and clearly states this in the website.

5. ICAI does not conduct classroom coaching

6. ICAI does not give any project experience(even at end-user level, not to mention implementational level)

7. All it does is get e-material from SAP and gives it at a reduced rate,we have to log-in and learn.Without anyone to guide,I wonder how one can learn SAP(THIS IS NOT A SELF-STUDY COURSE,SOME guidance is needed initially--SEIMENS gives both online and classroom coaching and in online too there are instructors--just that the cost of online is Rs.1,60,000 and the cost of classroom coaching is Rs.3,00,000.However,they claim to give placements after finishing the course).

8.Sudhakar says in his comment above that all efforts towards CA is waste.I disagree with that as SAP FICO needs strong domain experience which one can get from CA profession easily.

HELLO FRIENDS,

I AM WORKING IN SAP ENIVRONMENT SINCE LAST 5 YEARS. IT IS GOOD TO WORK IN SAP ENVIRONMENT. SAP IS A VERY INTEGRATED SYSTEM. IT WILL BE BETTER FOR A CA WHO HAS A PROFESSIONAL DEGREE AS WELL AS SAP KNOWLEDGE IN HAND. AS MENTIONED EARLIER BY ONE OF PERSONS ABOVE , IN SAP YOU HAVE TWO OPPORTUNITIES: END USER AND IMPLEMENTATION. IF YOU GET ANY FIELD EXPERIENCE, IT IS GOOD AND ENOUGH ALSO. SAP HAS MANY MODULES. THERE IS A WIDE RANGE OF TRANSACTION CODES IN SAP. AS A FINANCE GUY, IT WILL BE BETTER TO HAVE A GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF FI MODULE, AND CO MODULE (THIS IS FOR CONTROLLING PURPOSE). AT THE SAME TIME WE CAN'T AVOID MM MODULE.

IN SHORT, IT IS VERY NECESSARY NOW A DAYS TO HAVE A KNOWLEDGE OF ONE ERP PACKAGE. LETS' MAKE SAP AS AN ERP PACKAGE AS NOW A DAYS MANT COMPANIES ARE MOVING TO SAP ENVIRONMENT.

THANKS AND REGARDS

Where did you learn SAP? Are you a certified consultant?

What is your opinion of our ICAI's SAP initiative?

SAP is costly these days. Each module costs roughly 1.6 Lacs to 3 Lacs depending on whether it is online or classroom coaching. How do I overcome this finance hurdle? Is SAP available in pirated version to practice at home?

Lavanya

I have recently enrolled with SAP authorized education partner. Its just a 200 hrs course and exam should be completed within 5 months from the date of registration . ICAI SAP initiative is pretty amazing but  the drawbacks are that the discounts are available in only FI module and moreover student has to be in CA Final with articleship completed already. If you do it individually u'll be having 8 different module options but double prices per module......

Good Luck

Hi Lavanya,

One suggestion: Please complete your CA Final and then think about coming to SAP field. I am FICO Consultant working in an MNC for the past two and half years. No doubt this field is wonderful in terms of monetary benifits. I am certified with Siemens, Bangalore in a regular course (not an online course and I had spent 3.3 lakhs). Siemens does not provide any job offers and/or promises-they only assist in job placements (like they might put you for an interview with an MNC/good company), performance in interview is upto you.

You would have to dedicate a lot to come up in SAP as competition is fierce, that's why I had suggested you to complete CA Final first. (since I am sitting in CA Final without giving any attempts and without time to dedicate even 2 hours towards studies).

No doubt, you will definitely have an edge over others in terms of qualification (CA) and certification (Siemens Certification) and both valid worldwide. Also, you can definitely reach your dream of a gulf job, as market is fantastic there...

Hi Everyone

I am awaiting my results of PCC. I am presently undergoing training in SAP FICO module.

1.     Is our institute's SAP program good and does it cover FI and CO? I checked the site and it is not clear. It just says Financial Accounting and Management Accounting.Im assuming Management accounting means CO???

Our institute’s discount may be attractive but it doesn’t provide for classroom training. In FAQ, it is mentioned clearly that the programme is a self e-learning programme.

If you want certificate, please do the training in Siemens. Though costlier, have better benefits

2.     What are the prospects after learning SAP from either ICAI or SEIMENS? Is the career a stable one like Finance?

Presently, one of my client informed me that, CA and SAP certificate holders are demanding RS. 3 Lakhs per month

3.      The cost of doing SAP is huge...please enlighten me on this.

Cost incurred in doing SAP is huge. But the benefits from the same are more than the cost incurred. I am presently doing my training in FICO not for certificate purposes but for getting a job. So, after settling down, I might write my certification exams. For training, in other places (not certification) will cost around Rs. 18000 – 20000 in FICO

And for the other questions, I have no idea…

With regard to the working in SAP for Salary, My friend (working in MNC for more than 3 years) tells me that he only works maximum in 6 or 7 transactions types, meaning regular jobs only. Compared to my training, FICO contains more than 100 configurations to master.

Hi Everyone,

Good thoughts. Lavanya, BTW you can do both the thing either can complete your CA Fina   or you can do it side by side so that after you CA final you can try both the fields and choose the best option. However, there is huge requirement of SAP accounting professional. Undoubtedly, this decision would give great results.  Also for great result SAP certification is vital.

Moreover, I heard that, JKT SAP Academy offers golden opportunity to the employees of IBM/Linde /PWC/ Hewitt, Accenture. Enroll for ILT Batch and get an ipad free and for registering for OLT Batch get a blackberry curve 8310 free of cost. For more information you can visit their website at: https://www.jktsapacademy.com/index.html
