Dear,

FICO Module is very large in SAP and if you get a chance to have work with SAP then you should opt for it. Its because now a days all MNCs are working on SAP and FICO is relatred with all account, cost, finance. So go for it. After learning this you will have great exposure in future.

Smith Sir,

can you guide me what approach i should follow to take maximum advantage of this
any proactive wok or preparation if u guide, I will be highly oblige

Thanks Sir

Dear ,

It is very useful to have knowledge of SAP now a days. I have an experience of 6-7 years working in SAP. It is being seen that it will be better if we have enough knowledge of FI and MM  Module. Why? Because on the basis of MM module and FI module all other things are inter related till balance sheet items. It is CO module which will help for cost control and budgetory control.

how it works...

first PR is made

then PO is made.... (PO contains all details like what is GL, what is cost center or wbs element)

then GRN is made for material part (system will pick GL and cost centre from PO itself)

during this process, one temporary account (named as GRIR account )is created and it is credited

then finally it is to be posted by account payable people (at this time ,GRIR account will be debited

now after posting entry by AP person, actual vendor account is credited then we can go for payment.

this is the normal procedure which is being followed when there is any  PO.

As now a days more and  more companies are going on SAP , it is advantageous to go for it...at the same time i would also like to tell first fix your goal whether  you want to go for practice or for job. If you wish to go for job, then it is okay, otherwise what i prefer that if will be better if you get enough knowledge of how SAP works...

hope it will worth for you.

thanks

Chirag
Thanks Budy ..

it is very clear i will be in Job not in Practice.. I have interest in Finance and do anything for learning the same..

please Guide me in Brief where can i get the material for learning..
what is criteria for being selected in this Finance Industry like Clearing in First attempt or score high in FR SFM and Cost

I am glad to know this

dear,

so your goal is clear..okay.. thanks

now what is happening is :....

SAP is a fully integrated software. Each and every company install SAP in their company according to their needs. Some company customize reports on the basis of their needs.. while some other companies do uses the reports provided by them .... i heared that Reliance is using very best use of SAP and it has customized too much reports according to their usage.....Now a days new version of SAP is there which is known  as  "My SAP" in business. Installing SAP is not a job for small companies...

Another thing I have not done any course of SAP but I learnt SAP from experience.. I have even not joined any class...we can say that SAP is just like sea which has so many modules and many of them are inter related with each other... you can search for material from "Google search engine"... it may be possible that you get material which is company specific...

After getting CA, you can also do course which is handled by our institute....

see regarding selection in Finance industry, sure you must clear your CA with less attempt with a good marks but at the same time i would suggest that if you get an opportunity to learn SAP in your articleship, then  grab it...it will be an added advantage.....i did it...

hope it will enough...

thanks

Dear Chirag Ji,

SAP Training by institute is very costly( around 2lakh). Please tell any other way to learn SAP. I also want to learn SAP but not getting any options.

Very true Chirag, In my case, I have no experience of SAP during my articleship. I learn it during my job only. Now a days, compnies are replacing thier accounting software by SAP. . It is really like an ocean. More over it is customized according to requirements. Hence we should have basis knowledge about SAP and navigation T Codes for report. Rest can be learnt by experience only. This is the only way to learn SAP with lesser cost which I did. Thanks. . .

hii buddy

i am currently working in INFOSYS as a consultant so as per my point of view SAP is the area whrere everone can fit that is in my case i trained in ORACLE finance but now i shifted towards SAP module becouse most of our client demand CA in every project with SAP knowledge and if any one  trained in SAP they easily got ONSITE opportunity in IT co. so plsss be focus watever u want

but what will be the duration of SAP training course (nd timings generally)?

Agreed doing SAP Fico is expensive. I can see most of those interested are either CAs or students doing CA. For them, I suppose, the SAP certificate issued by SAP training centres holds no much value. What I'm trying to put before you is one could consider doing FICO from an industry expert who has worked on SAPs for years together. Such people usually teach for one-tenth of the amount mentioned above.

Am not endorsing anyone nor against any SAP training centre. Sharing my views as I've seen the ERP segment closely.
