Dear Sirs,
Pl let me know as to whether an assessee can claim allowances like Medical Allowance , Travelling Allowance while filing Income Tax Return , even if the credit for such allowance has not been given in his Form 16 issued by employer(due to late submission of details by employee to the employer) .

Yes, the assese can claim the deduction , if he has any prove of such allowance, salary slip, terms of appointment letter etc.
