suppose abc pvt ltd. is selling goods to pqr ltd. and charging 40000 as freight. but actual amt. paid to transportation comp is 15000. pls tell on what value service tax will be levied ie...on 15000 or 40000

Reverse charge on Transportation apply on the transportation bill issued by the transportation company

100% of service tax liability is of the service recipient. (where the service provider is non corporate entity and recipient is corporate entity)

there is 75% abatement avilable.

i went for audit ....there they were paying service tax on 40000......not 15000
