Dear Rahul,

There is 2 procedures in aces.gov.in website for E-Filing of Excise & Service tax ;

one is Online E-Filling

another one is Offline upload, for this it requires Excel file(with Macros) (available in download section of aces.gov.in), you have to fill all the data in Excel file, in last page press Submit button, it will generate XML file, this file upload in to aces.gov.in website.

Hope your query has been solved by Sathya's reply. This is to add some more information:

1. There are several returns in Excise & Service Tax. If your querry is in relation to Monthly returns of Excise it's ER - 1. Half yearly return for service tax is to be filed in Form ST - 3.

2. For this you must have ACES login ID & password. Hope you are having the same. In case you do not have the same, first apply for it with the Excise Department adn then proceed to file return.

3. Once you log in www.aces.gov.in you will find tabs with various options. Go to RET tab and follow instructions as per your requirement.

4. No other document is required to be filed along with the return.
