no need to send documents with itr now

ITR 2. NO to send any documents
You need to file compulsory online mode in ITR 2. No documents is required to file but you should retain all the document with you for records purpose
Online filing of ITR is mandatory only in whose case the taxable income is above Rs.5 lakh and those who are claiming refund irrespective of the amount of taxable income.
Dear Harshal,
In your case, no need to file ITR.
File ITR 2 & no need to send any documents.
Please refer amended Rule12 of the IT Rules which categorically states that paper return can be filed only for ITR 1 and ITR 4 subject to certain other conditions. Any other ITR cannot be filed in paper form irrespective of income level. The relevant provision reads as follows- (b) Where total income assessable under the Act during the previous year of a person,- (i) being an individual of the age of 80 years or more at any time during the previous year; or (ii) whose income does not exceed five lakh rupees and no refund is claimed in the return of income, and who furnishes the return in Form No. SAHAJ ITR-1 or Form No. SUGAM (ITR-4). Since in this case if the querist wishes to file return voluntarily he has to file ITR 2 but compulsorily in online mode.
