Return filed late by few minutes. is it a valid return?

Efiling 939 views 4 replies

I was filing the return for first time with Digital Signature last night. While filing I had the "fakepath error problem (reported by several other people on the forum) while uploading with Digital signature. By the time I figured out how to solve it the time was 12:05am. Will my return be accepted as filed in time or will it be considered filed late? Is there some grace period as far as efiling goes when there are technical issues like this? What to do in such a case? Who can I approach?

Check the date of receipt of Acknowledgement , is it 30/09 or 01/10. If it is 01/10, then the return will be counted as return filed after due date.

Whatever reason, return has to be filed before due date, inf your case chedk ITRV, date mentioned 30th or 1st Oct.

Friend, don't worry

a slight delay can be pleaded....you will have to write an application to the concerned A.O. specifying the problem and as the delay is of a small period having a reasonable cause, the request will be accepted.

Just keep in mind that u should only reply when u receive a notice of demand, because it might be ignored by the Departement by theselves...

Dont take this matter seriously.

Wait till the Assessment Order and if there is any demand notice, write letter to AO explaining the situation.

I think IT people are not smart enough to find out these type of mistakes.
