Requirement for ITR Verification

ITR filed, which was subsequently revised.

Please note that revised return was verified but original return is yet to be verified (not verified).

Is there any need to verify original return now? please share inputs.

I faced similar issue.. I had filed original return on 31st July.. and filed revised return on 2 Aug without verifying original.. I have received demand for late fees.. pls verify asap if you have same case

We have to varify original return, so that it gets validated and based on this revised return gets processed

If both ITRs are are filed after due date of filing ITR then it is not required to verify original ITR..

If original return is not verified it's treated as not filed.If not filed how can you "revise" it.Thus you have to verify original return!

It's true but Based on acknowledgement number and date of filing , a revised return can be done ..IT dept is not restricting

Let's be clear. If you don't verify original return then "revised return " would be treated as "original return " and if revised return is after due date then pay penalty even if unverified original return was filed before due date!
