You may require a experience letter or letter of service from your current employer only at the time of terminating your service. Since, in your above question you do not state anywhere whether you intending to quit your current employer or not. It is ideal to collect all your monthly payslips, preferably latest one to produce it to your next employer as proof of evidence for having received your salary.

Thank you Sathish for replying. Actualy i received a interview call and they asked in telephonic round only that wheather i am having all required experiance letter or not. so i just wanted to know that wheather its required that we should collect experiance or appreciation letter from company on timly basis like after completion of 6 months or 1 yr.

Well Himani, you can ask your HR to give you "Experience Letter" which will contain the details of your Employer certifying, that you worked for them in the ................ (name of the department) as ................................. (your designation) for the period .............. (20xx to 20x1). Sometimes it could be a service cum relieving letter confirmation issued by the employer.

Usually Experience letters are issued by an employer on termination of service by the employee. However, appreciation letters may have been given normally during the course of your performance appraisal or for achieving a milestone during a specific period of time. The same can be produced to your prospective employer when asked for.
