Recently I found this notification on ICAI's site
December 31, 2011 For the sake of information and academic guidance of students, specified material like question papers, suggested answers, revisionary test papers, supplementary study material, result etc pertaining to CA examinations are being published and hosted in the website www.icai.org from time to time, by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Possible misuses of such materials by unauthorized persons/entities have been brought to our notice for doing the needful at our end. In this regard, it is stated for the information of the general public and all concerned, that unauthorized use, downloading, extraction and copying of such data/information/material will be viewed and treated as an offence and those indulging in such acts would be dealt with accordingly under the laws of the land. How ever ,
Some questions are zooming in my mind after reading this notification
1. There are no doubt that the study material and other material are the property of ICAI and ICAI is free to use it as it please.
But
I am unable to understand what is the problem to ICAI when an Indian ( e.g. student , any other professional like graduate or any other person who are in job ) down load the study material and read it and gain something from that study material.
Being an Indian I object this notification on the grounds mentioned below
1. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is a statutory body established under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 (Act No. XXXVIII of 1949)
2. Mission of the ICAI is to increase the corporate goverenance in our great India.
Dear freinds
It is the duty of ICAI's to provide education in Accountancy profession to the every body in India to increase the corporate govberence and faith in the accountency in our India
and
Not to stop Indians on such grounds that some body has downloaded our study material or other exam material .
So I request to the ICAI that not to stop providing study material and other exam material on the site because OUR India is gaining from this.
Hope any body at HELM is hearing this humble request.
