Quick Summary
This discussion addresses how to respond to an AIMS letter received on February 20th, concerning a notice for the financial year 2012-13. It explores the process of filing a return, the relevant sections to use, and what to communicate if filing is not necessary. The advice suggests that if a return wasn't filed in response to a Section 148 assessment notice, an ex-parte best judgement order might have been issued, which can be verified via e-compliance.

For which financial year???

FY 2012-13 notice issued on 20.02.2020

I think your case was selected for assessment under 148 , if u have not file any return in response to notice the ao has done best judgement order till now. You may verify the same by e compliace where u will see other notices too.
Similar case with one of my client. He was very late in reaching out to me. We prepared lot of documentation. and then luckily order was passed in our favor. He had done credit card payments and bought motor car but not filed the return of income.
