this is the message i mailed

i request icai to consider few points

allow pe-2 students to appear in nov2010 exams of IPCC
exempt them from undergoing orientation program for 35 hours
extend time to complete 100 hrs itt training or implement the same scheme of pe-2 (like without linking it appearance in exams).or after clearing both the groups in IPCC.
accept IPCC conversion form along with examination application forms which will be useful for failed students of pe-2 in may 2010 exams(last attempt for pe-2)
reduce the fees for conversion

i once again kindly request concerned authorities (president, board of studies, council ) see the feasibility of above suggestions and make a announcement

The issues raised by you are in consideration and are in discussion
with the authorities. As and when the decesion is made the same shall
be uploaded on the website in the form of notification or
announcement.

Thanks for the information. We (group of Intermediate and PE-II students) are planning to send an appeal to ICAI to extend PE-II exams, exempt us from ITT and orientation programme. If this is not possible, make conversion to IPCC free of cost (charges for study material and journal may be charged), no restriction on number of attempts and exempt from ITT and orientation programme. Reason being most of the Intermediate and PE-II students by now will working and there is no possibility of getting so many days of leave. Either we have to quit job to continue CA or vice versa. This was also suggested informally by CAs and regional offices. I suggest you also please take initiative alongwith your fellow students to write to ICAI in this regard listing the practical difficulties to convert to ICAI and completing ITT and orientation programme.

We have written letter to Office bearers of ICAI and certain council members regarding extension of PE-II exam for PE-II and CA Intermediate students and exempt us from ITT and orientation training, since most these students will be working & there is no possibility of getting leave. As per the discussion we had with certain CAs, there is no possibility of exemption, as there is a complaint in the industry/market that CA students lack in correspondance and computer skills and that is the reason they are making it compulsory. regarding extension of PE-II exam, possibility is very thin.

Personally, i feel that ICAI should atleast make conversion free of cost.
