reply from icai for pe-2 students

Thanks for the information. We (group of Intermediate and PE-II students) are planning to send an appeal to ICAI to extend PE-II exams, exempt us from ITT and orientation programme. If this is not possible, make conversion to IPCC free of cost (charges for study material and journal may be charged), no restriction on number of attempts and exempt from ITT and orientation programme. Reason being most of the Intermediate and PE-II students by now will working and there is no possibility of getting so many days of leave.  Either we have to quit job to continue CA or vice versa. This was also suggested informally by CAs and regional offices. I suggest you also please take initiative alongwith your fellow students to write to ICAI in this regard listing the practical difficulties to convert to ICAI and completing ITT and orientation programme.

We have written letter to Office bearers of ICAI and certain council members regarding extension of PE-II exam for PE-II and CA Intermediate students and exempt us from ITT and orientation training, since most these students will be working & there is no possibility of getting leave. As per the discussion we had with certain CAs, there is no possibility of exemption, as there is a complaint in the industry/market that CA students lack in correspondance and computer skills and that is the reason they are making it compulsory. regarding extension of PE-II exam, possibility is very thin.

Personally, i feel that ICAI should atleast make conversion free of cost.
