One of my client a partnership firm wants to take a premises on lease for business purpose.

The landlord is demanding the copy of partnership deed and copy of pan card before signing the rent agreement.

Can landlord legally demand such documents?

If not how can landlord get assurance about identity of firm and its partenrs?

Legally he is right to demand identification of tenant.

Is copy partnership deed required to be submitted as identity?

Yes, as you are going to make rent agreement in firm's name.
