Registration u/s 12a in case of merged societies

I had a two societies which are having sec 12a registration & later both the societies merge into a new socitey , what is procedure for sec 12a registration?

My queries are:

1) Does societies had to apply for Commisioner for cancellation of existing registration or automatically registration cancells due to dissolution of society

2) Does new society has to apply for fresh sec 12a registration?
