Regarding Residential Rent

For FY 2021 2022
If rental agreement is made in wife name and payment also made from wife account and not claim any deduction for this and have not shown in ITR Filing.

Can husband claim the deduction in his ITR as there is tax liability .

Is it possible that husband can claim on behalf of wife in his ITR

Please anyone let me know

Quick Summary
This discussion explores whether a husband can claim tax deductions for residential rent paid from his wife's bank account, even if the rental agreement is in her name and she hasn't claimed any deductions. The consensus leans towards the individual paying the rent needing to claim the deduction in their own Income Tax Return (ITR) to be eligible.

In my opinion, it can't be shown in husband's account
Rent paid from the account of the resident Individual must claim income tax.
Mukherjee what is your final conclusion whether husband can claim ?
