9 months of articleship should be completed before writing ipcc under direct entry. If you write the exam then result will be withheld I think.
In case you have written ipcc under cpt or foundation route already then, you are eligible straight away to write eventhough if you convert to direct entry scheme.

But I have seen that in icai portal that if u start articleship in Sept than eligibility creteria for exam is 7 or 8 month...

Please go to icai website and refer chartered accountancy prospectus.. It is given as 9 months.

in exam form mention date on that date mention months req. to complete..
it's not mentioned in icai prospectus but I have seen in announcement
