I am in final and my attempt is due in May 2014.
Is it necessary to have coaching for final or self study would do?
Specially for practical subjects like accounts and SFM. Attending coaching classes along with articleship makes daily scedule very hectic. And dont think so we get time for self preparation.

you can also do self study for CA final....it is not necessary to do coaching classes....
and you have time since your attempt is in 2014..the only thing is that you have to be sincere and dedicated. you can take notes of the classes and study on your own

It's up to you Rutvi.. many Students can do self study and many students wants to supervision and help. It depends upone maintality. And If you are joing only for practicle subjects then not big deal 2-3 Houres daily.. you have 1.5 years approx..

Agree with Ankit..............................................Best of Luck.........u can do all subject self if u have confidence in urself..............do group study only upto one or two frnds..............dedicate urself towards stdy fully........

Do S D Bala and practice manual for SFM
Just do self studies because ultimately only self studies will help you gain control, self Confidence & expertise on the Subject. I am telling you my Own experience. Studied all through just self studies & no Coaching except that for PHD where I had a Mentor Under whom I was registered with. & Belive me He was the Best person to be addressed as a Friend Philosopher & Guide & also the Real Teacher what it can be termed as.

I will agree with comments of all other members, that self study is the best method.
However, as you yourself said that schedules get hactic with articleship and classes going togather; this is the pressure of the classes that keeps you on taking the hactic schedule and complete the subject.
Without classes many students may go in a comfort zone and may study very little as when compared with classes.
Moreover, in classes the concept which you will understand in 15 minutes by yourself, is explained to you in 5 minutes (more return per minute of investment)
All said and done, even after classes you will need a lot of self study to clear your concepts and prepare yourself for final examinations.

really coaching classes can lead to hectic schedule and u wont b having any time for self stdy......instead u cn refer good books and stdy on your own....
if u have any doubts regarding practical subjects u can clear it with your friends too....moreover if v join classes v remain dependant on it but if v dont v can do everything on our own.....you are having sufficient time so you can go through books and dont forget to make your own notes which will be very helpful during revision.....
just you need to plan up accordingly and have to implement it too........success will b al urs...
see as you have completed ur ipcc level, u must be aware of your strength and weaknesses..... so self study is upto you...
regarding coaching what i feel is....one really need to be disciplined in himself for the virtual classes....warna class mein padhai kam entertainment zyada ho jayega....
i prefer to dissociate myself from my friends during classes.....it really helps me to focus on the subject matter and concepts discussed in class......
accounts and sfm are the two subjects which can help you to fetch good marks,may be a rank.....i feel coaching is a must for these two....but if you are a student who has good command over language and understanding of concepts then self study is the best option for many of the subjects.
