If PAN is not updated with the new company name, all downstream portals (GST, TDS, IT) will continue to show the old name. 2. Update PAN First: - Apply for PAN name correction on NSDL portal (onlineservices.nsdl.com) or UTIITSL portal - Submit: Certificate of Incorporation with new name (issued by ROC), resolution for name change, Form INC-24/INC-25 approval - PAN itself does not change (same 10-digit PAN), only the name in the PAN database is updated - Processing time: 15-20 working days 3. Update GST Registration: After PAN database is updated, apply for amendment in GST Core Fields via GST portal → My Profile → Amendment of Registration (Core Fields) → Change legal name. Officer approval required. 4. Update TDS Portal (TRACES): TAN-linked name will auto-update once PAN database is updated — may take a billing cycle. 5. Update Bank Accounts: Inform all banks about the name change with ROC documents. 6. ROC Step (If Not Done): Ensure the name change with ROC is complete — file INC-24 for approval. After ROC issues new Certificate of Incorporation, all other updates follow. 7. GST Invoices: From the effective date of name change, all GST invoices must reflect the new legal name. Transitional period practices should be documented. |
