If u r submitting the from after 30 days of completion of articleship, then a fine is levied by ICAI. You have give a Demand Draft of the fine amount. Submit the DD with your 108 itself. In addition to that, also submit a letter explaining the reason of delay and requesting ICAI to condone the delay. This letter will be from the student. You can very well mention a reason like preparing for CA Final and appearing for the same. Preferably print this letter on your firm's letter head and take stamp and signature of your principal.
