As the legal heir and approved Representative Assessee, the refund can be credited to your account or a joint account with other legal heirs, provided you have the necessary documentation and authorization. Required Documentation -
*PAN Card*: Your PAN card or the PAN card of the joint account holders. -
*Bank Account Details*: A cancelled cheque or a certificate from the bank confirming the account details. -
*Legal Heir Certificate*: A legal heir certificate or succession certificate to establish your relationship with the deceased. -
*Representative Assessee Approval*: Documentation evidencing your approval as the Representative Assessee. Account Options -
*Your Account*: The refund can be credited to your individual bank account. -
*Joint Account*: If there are multiple legal heirs, the refund can be credited to a joint account held by all or some of the legal heirs.
Procedure - *Submit Documentation*: Submit the required documentation to the Income-tax Department or the Assessing Officer, as applicable. -
