Thanks for sharing your study material but a lot of material is not available in the market like SFM by S.S.Rajagopal , M P vijay kumar/kamal garg class material. i m going to apear in ist group in nov 12 for the first time. i have no time for classes how can i do self study of sfm. please suggest. thank you divyang and congratulation for securing 2nd rank.

thanks 4 sharing..by d way  is der any change in practical solvng  in accounts due to revised schedule vi.

can  u provide me notes for accounting standard n ifrs i ill b vry much grateful to u.thanks

@ anuraj i did take coaching for financial reporting, SFM, AMA and direct tax laws and attended a workshop for auditing
@ Rahul the only book you can rely on is the institute's study material. Dinesh madan would simplify matter to a great extent.
@ Sriansh if you want to do self study you can use books of either Pattabhi Ram or L. Muralidharan and supplement it with the institute's practice manual.
@ khushi i don't think there should be any change. All i would suggest is go through the entire revised schedule vi. Try writing just the format 2-3times. Then solve all your problems using revised schedule vi. In short restrain from solving problems using the old format.
@ khushi Notes for accounting standards aren't required if you are using DS Rawat's book. With regard to IFRS try doing the illustrations in the institute material and get to know the differences with regard to accounting standards

Hi Divyang

Congrats.I am your ITT Training mate. Its really great to see that you are second in the merit list.Great

Dear Friends ,

Though everyone has a choice whether to take classes or do self study, I believe self study is best method to score marks in any subject if the best books are available.  So following are my suggestions reagding best books for  CA final :

Financial Reporting   -  Self study textbook by CA ( Dr.) P.C. Tulsian as per revised schedule VI  ( will be released in 1st week of August)

Advanced Management Accounting - Self study textbook by CA ( Dr.) P.C. Tulsian (Already in market)

Operational Research (OR) - Self study textbook by CA ( Dr.) P.C. Tulsian (Already in market)

DT  - Vinod Gupta Modules

IDT – Dippak Gupta Modules

Law – Munish Bhandari

ISCA – Study Material of ICAI

Audit –  Surbhi Bansal / TIPS notes + Institute compiler

SFM  - Not aware of any tailor made book  for CA-final which is comprehensive to cover all questions. Whichever book you refer,  just ensure to practice some additional questions from the last  Revision test Papers (RTP’s) issued by ICAI before every attempt. For Nov -12, you should practice  additional questions from  May 2011, Nov 2011, May 2012 and Nov 2012 RTP’s

Thanks

Yash
