I request all PCC students to keep sending their requests to the institute for considering the reduction in articleship period for all students to 3 years.

mailed to ICAI. and got reply as below

Dear Student,

The Institute constituted a Study Group for considering issues relating to permitting CPT students to appear in CA Final Exam during the last six months of their articles and reduction in the period of articles for PCC students from 3½ years to 3 years on 1^st July, 2009. The Group’s recommendations and approval of the Council are awaited. Thereafter, if need be, the regulation might also require amendment for which approval of the Central Government would also be required.

It will be a long drawn process and the student may be advised to prepare his studies / examination as per present set of Regulations.

I guess they are going nuts!! read the reply as posted above "it will be a long drawn process" In their long drawn process the students under PCC scheme will qualify CA and then they will proudly announce for the IPCC students that the articles for PCC students is reduced by 6 months!!! Hehe... I guess the institute must be informed that they are dealing with matured people and not kids!!!!
