Rectify or Revise the return for tax demand

Hello

I got a tax demand because CPC couldn't find my challan number. There was a small mistake in my challan number it looks like. I have 2 options:

1. revise the return with correct challan and disagree with outstanding demand

2. rectify the return and disagree with outstanding demand

Which is better? In which option the return will get processed by CPC itself and which option the return will go to an assessing officer?

I just want it to get processed quickly.

Thanks

Quick Summary
A taxpayer received a tax demand notice from CPC because of a slight error in their challan number. They are seeking advice on whether to 'rectify' or 'revise' their tax return to resolve the issue. The core questions are which method leads to quicker processing by CPC versus an assessing officer, and whether revising the return for AY 21-22 is still an option given the new portal's limitations.

Rectify your return

Rectify option is not there in the new portal for AY 21 to 22.

So is revise the only option? Will it go for AO processing if you revise the return?

Rectify the return with correct challan.
pay outstanding demand if any.

You mean "revise" return right? Because "rectification" for latest AY is not available on the portal.

And if you revise the return will it go to AO or CPC?
