Hi,

I received 143(1) from IT department and in the document i find that the differences between my returns and the 143(1) computation are

Reporting Heads
As Provided by Taxpayer in Return of Income
As Computed Under Section 143(1)
INCOME FROM SALARY
100
80
INCOME FROM HOUSE PROPERTY
-20
0
GROSS TOTAL INCOME
80
80

-20 is the interest I paid on my home loan.

So did I file correctly or should I file rectification. Other than this all other details are proper between my filing and 143(1) computation.

YOU FILE CORRECT RETURN THEN SEND RETURN TO THE BANGLORE WITH CERTIFICATE OF INTEREST FOR HOUSING LOAN OTHERWSIE REVISE RETURN

Hoe  can they change salary income????

I think u have filed correct return. As there is no demand, you do not have to revise your return

Thanks for your response. I am not able to rectify the returns thru online any idea why i am seeing the following error...

Your input details are not matching. Please enter correct details as per the intimation order under Sec 143(1) or order under Sec154 passed by CPC.

You don't really have to do anything, the software used at the Processing Centre automatically makes certain changes, from what am seeing is they've basically set off the loss in house property against salary income, something which is stated in the Income Tax Act.

Treat it just like an intimation, no need for recitication necessary.

No Need to file RECTIFICATION S.154, the New provision for salried person having house property loss (i.e. Interest rebate) should be adjusted in Form 16, And directly salary income compute to Net basis. thats why when u attempt to rectify it will show error with matching of information..

Thanks everyone for the reply. :)
