I am researching how small and mid-sized CA firms manage client work during ITR and GST filing periods.
I am not selling a product. I am trying to understand the real operational bottlenecks after firms use Tally, ClearTax, Webtel, GST portal, or other filing tools.
For a typical client file, which tasks still consume the most manual effort?
- Collecting missing documents from clients
- Reading bank statements, Form 16, AIS/26AS, broker reports, or GST registers
- Preparing workpapers before CA review
- Following up for clarifications and approvals
- Tracking staff ownership and filing readiness
- Resolving GST or tax-data mismatches

It would be especially helpful to know which work is still managed through Excel, WhatsApp, email, or shared folders—and why the existing software does not solve it well.
