Re: study group for nov '10 and query regarding last attempt

hi

The same is my query if anyone clears 1 group of ca final old in nov 2010 then what about in may 2011 if only the gropu left it have to appear in may 2011 or both the groups of new course

waiting for the reply

pls  inform the status as to whether there will be continuation of the scheme fter this nov attempt

As far as i know about the rules and regulations of ICAI, you will have to appear only for the pending grp i.e. if you pass one group in old scheme then you will have to appear only for the pending one in new scheme.  However if someone dont agree with this then he/she should come up with some reliable information as i am also from final old course and would like to know abt it.

officially till today nov 10 will be the last attempt for old and unless ICAI itself extends it, all old course students should be ready to appear in new from may 11

I think if ICAI allowed to appear in old scheme than who passed one group would be treated as paased final first group & he/she has to pass only 2nd group.

Its a good idea to have a study group to solve our queries.

Me also interested ,

For all

"if a student clears his one group till november 2010 exam and his one group is pending, he has to convert to new syllabus and HAVE TO GIVE BOTH THE GROUPS AGAIN IN NEW SYLLABUS." 

This is due to vast changes in following papers:

1) Accounts                : (IFRS launch)

2) CLSP                        : (companies Bill, 2009)

3) Direct taxes           : (New income tax act i.e. New DIRECT TAX CODE)

4) Indirect taxes        : (Elimination of excise due to introduction of GST)

ICAI just want its newly qualified candidates to be well equipped with the updated knowledge and not with the old acts.

ICAI may announce it at the end of november 2010 exam to avoid issue to be discussed for more time. Then students have to agree with ICAI, because students are left with NO OTHER OPTION...

this news is fine and ringing bells for a person appearing in Nov Exam under old syllabus .

i feel  the door is shut for the old syllabus students and shold be ready for only New Syllabus .

can the institute confirm there is no extension for old syllabus so that students can concentrate for the other and make action plan accordingly

No, i have met the student counseller (Board of Studies) at SIRC office, she told, that we have to write only the balance group pending and not both the group.  enroll in new course paying 1100 for books and that will b e treated  as joined C.A final (new) and exemption would be given for the cleared group. 

All the information i got from the mam.

icai has announced that if anystudent has cleared any group then he will be given exemption in that group under new scheme. exemption benifit will also be availabe.

as per my knowledge old course is discontinuing...noc 10 is the last attempt...and we get group wise exemption..for details refer institute site
