step of q 1
goods exclusive of cst = 3000*100/102 =2941.18
goods exclusive of excise = 2941.18*100/108.24 = 2717.3

value including cst= 3000
value ex, cst= 3000/102*100=2941.17
hence value before excise= 2941.17/108.24*10=2717.39
