Rate of CST is only == 2%,
However in some state govt. by way of notification exempt the above rate by 1%.
Like in state of Himanchal CST rate is 1 %

Rate of CST = 2% (If Form C is provided) otherwise
Rate of CST = 4%.
please check with authorities

Dear Pramod,
When the goods are sold against Form C - 2%
If it is not against Form C, local rates are applicable like 4%, 5%, 12.5%,20% etc., depending on the individual states.
With regard to Surcharge on CST, you should be more specific with regard to State.....
For example, In Punjab and Haryana - Surcharge on VAT is appilcable only for Local Sales,
However, incase of Gujarat Additional tax is applicable on Interstate Sales also..
