Query regarding max time available b/w ipcc and articleship

Hi,

I had a query regarding what is the maximum time available after completion of both groups of IPCC and Articleship?

My current situation is this:

I am currently doing B.Com(H) and simultaneously studying for IPCC (both groups). I shall be giving the examination in November this year (2012). I will complete B.Com by May, 2014.

My question is whether I am allowed to delay my articleship by a period of 1.5 years so I can complete college after giving IPCC (both groups) before I commence my articleship.
