Query regarding delay in registration of ca final

Final 148 views 1 replies
Respected Members,

I would like to clear my doubt regarding delay in registration for final exam. I have passed my Group 2 of IPCC in May 2019 and my articleship got over in in Feb 2019.

I wasn't able to register myself for the final course after clearing Group 2 of IPCC due to some medical emergency at home.

I was registered under old course scheme and now my SSP shows ipcc course has lapsed even after qualifying both the groups.

So I wanted to enquire the procedure I need to follow for appearing in the final exam for the month of Nov 2021.

Kindly assist me in this regard as soon as possible.

Thank you

Hi Shraddha,

Thanks for clearly explaining your situation — this kind of query is common when transitioning between CA course schemes, especially after delays due to genuine reasons like medical emergencies.

Let’s go through the issue and solution step-by-step.

🔍 Your Situation Summary:

  • You cleared both groups of IPCC (Group 2 in May 2019).

  • Your articleship ended in Feb 2019.

  • You were under the Old Scheme of CA course.

  • You did not register for CA Final in time after clearing IPCC.

  • Now, your IPCC status is showing as "lapsed" on the SSP portal.

  • You want to appear for Final Exam in Nov 2021, but are unsure of the process.

⚠️ Important Point:

The Old Scheme of CA course was discontinued by ICAI, and all students were automatically transitioned to the New Scheme (as per ICAI notification in 2020).
Now, only the New Scheme (or Revised/New Education and Training Scheme - NExT) is applicable.

What You Need to Do:

1️⃣ Revalidate Your IPCC Registration (if required):

Since there's a long gap since your IPCC pass (last group cleared in 2019), your registration may have lapsed due to the validity period (usually 4 years).

Even though you passed both groups, ICAI might require you to revalidate your intermediate qualification before you can proceed.

You can do this on the ICAI SSP Portal under Student Services → Revalidation.

2️⃣ Register for CA Final (New Scheme):

After revalidation, you must register fresh for the CA Final under the New Scheme (2024 scheme or current).

To do this:

  • Log in to SSP Portal → Student Cycle

  • Choose “Final Course Registration”

  • Fill in the required details

  • Upload necessary documents (IPCC mark sheet, articleship completion letter, photo, signature, etc.)

  • Pay the registration fee

3️⃣ Wait for Confirmation of Final Registration:

Once your registration is processed and approved, you’ll receive an acknowledgment.

Only after this can you apply for the CA Final exam (e.g., Nov 2021 session) — but since Nov 2021 has passed, this is more relevant for future attempts (unless you had submitted your query back in 2021 and are now seeking retrospective clarity).

4️⃣ In Case You Missed Nov 2021 Attempt:

If you were not registered in time for the Nov 2021 attempt, unfortunately, you would not have been eligible to appear.

However, you can still proceed with registration now and appear in upcoming attempts under the current syllabus.

✅ Summary:

Step Action
1 Revalidate your IPCC registration, if it has lapsed
2 Register for CA Final course under the New Scheme via SSP Portal
3 Wait for approval, then apply for exams
4 Track deadlines for exam form submission (for upcoming attempts)

📩 Need Help?

If you're still facing SSP portal issues (like lapsed status), it’s best to:

Attach your:

  • IPCC mark sheets (both groups)

  • Articleship completion proof

  • Screenshot of the SSP issue

  • Brief explanation of the medical emergency (optional)
