Query on medical allowance exemption (limited rs 15,000/-)

Hi Friends,

I have  a query on the rule of exemption of Medical Allowance (Limit Rs 15,000/-).

I work for a boutique.

Due to personal reasons I had to take leave for four months in the last financial year and was on leave without pay for three months.

Now my employer has given the Form 16 where they are not giving me the full exemption of Rs 15,000/- under Medical Allowance saying that for three months I cannot get exemption.

Could you please let me know if my employer is doing the right thing.
