Query Advance Tax - senior citizen

A.Y. 2021-22. A person became senior citizen on 01.01.2021. Person has Income from Salary and Other sources(FD interest). Advance tax is levied on the FD interest portion of the income. While filing return, no interest on 234 A B C was levied. However later on demand came for interest of 234 A B C. The demand was fully paid. However, senior citizens are not supposed to pay Advance Tax if they have income only from salary and other sources. So, in this case demand amount was not correct. Is there any way to get refund of the amount paid ?

You submit rectification to reprocess the same since Infosys would have opened its eyes..

Is there any last date to file rectification for AY 2021-22?

If possible submit before 31st March .

But practically it will take past years rectification also

Yeah you are right..You can revise the return since it has deadline of 31st March .

Rectification can be done later also

Ya I don't think their eyes have fully opened yet.

One of my colleagues got an email last week with a demand for over a crore against some non-existent export income they say she did not declare. Never mind that the poor lady has never earned anything close to a crore in her entire life. And the best part was the same email had another attachment with a demand closure order.

While filing the revised return, the demand amount which has been paid is not appearing in total tax paid column. How do I get refund then ?

If the interest is reduced then you will get the refund..Check the 234A, B, C figures

Since Advance Tax is not payable, no point of interest, isn't it. so, what reduction of interest?
