when the allotment is made to following category as defined in 2.2.2B(v) of dip guidelines 2000 then it is termed as qib placement.
it includes
- public financial institution u/s 4A of CA 1956
- mutual fund
- fii registered with sebi
- vc registered with sebi
- fvc registered with sebi
- state industrial development corp.
- insurance companies registered with irda
- provident fund and pension funds having corpus fund of 25o million
- schedule commercial banks
- mulitbateral and bilateral development financial institutions
