Pursue chartered accountancy.

I am a MBA graduate and working with a financial services company. I wanted to pursue Chartered Accountancy(CA) as well. As a graduate i can directly apply to IPCC but it requires me to complete 9 Months of arcticleship to appear for the exam. As i have a ongoing job i can't leave that and pursue articleship. Can someone recommend me some alternative that can help me keep my job going as well as be able to have the articleship time going along with it?

You can't have the cake and eat it too. Give up any one of the things. Once you have decided firmly what is suitable for you, go for it.

Definitly i want to pursue a single field only but can any of the work profiles be counted as articleship? I mean i would like to pursue a job profile and if it can be counted as my articleship then that would be great?

Articleship is mandatory in CA course irrespective of appearing CA exam. Also It's Duration is 3 years, so if you are interested in this course then join Articleship and then appear exam . It is not posssible to do Job while undergoing articleship . So first start articleship then find any way for your job. here as per given fact job is not possible with Articleship.

And also while doing job you won't get adequate leave for CA Exam preparation which is possible while undergoing articleship. So if possible then leave job and start articleship in any good firm where you will get reasonable stipend and then persue CA Course.

Otherwise enjoy life and look for any other course where article ship is not mandatory like CFA which is better option and related to financial sercives, investment banking etc.

All the best..:-)

Hi  Elesh,

Soory to say but u cant do articleship with any job it would be voilating the ICAI rules. either u have to do CA or your Job. i would suggest you other courses like ca which is easy to do with your job and has value like CA in abroad ACCA CMA or CIMA. But CA with job not possible and articleship goes on for 3 years so think and decide.
