We have traded in an item which was non mentioned by us on the top 5 commodities in our GS profile in non core fields. The GST officer is threatening to reject the ITC claimed by us on these purchases saying we have not mentioned this item in REG-14. This item has been purchased by us for the first time & is not a regular item for future business, Kindly mention what does the GST rule say about this matter. Thank You

If the purchase item relates for sale purpose, now or further in future, then only you can avail credit. GST site created by the Goverment takes only 5 commodities while in registration, but most of the business have more than 5 commodities. So, the officer cannot reject the ITC, if happened, we can file an appeal for these.
If Your are having more then 5 kind of commodities, you are dealing , then Ask your Jurisdiction Tax Officer to add the Sixth one to your Profile.
So try to make him understand that there is limitations of Adding more then 5 commodity on portal .
