Quick Summary
Composition dealers are required to provide their GSTIN to suppliers who are also registered under GST. While they cannot claim input tax credit, this information is mandatory as per CGST Rules, 2017. Details of such purchases must also be reported in their GSTR-4 filing.
As per Rule 46, CGST rules, 2017 an invoice should contain GSTN numbers of both supplier and recipient if they are registered. Therefore, though the composition dealer is not entitled for input, they need to share GSTN to the supplier.
Yes, It's mandatory for you to Give your GST number to Suppliers, if Suppliers is also Registered under GST. You can not take ITC on same, But in GSTR 4 you have to mention the Purchase from Registered Party ect.. details of Purchase / inward Supplies.
