Quick Summary
This discussion addresses the tax implications of withdrawing from a provident fund (PF) before completing five years of service. It clarifies that interest on employer contributions and the employer's contribution itself are taxable under 'salaries'. The interest on the employee's own contribution is taxable under 'IFOS' (Income from Other Sources). The thread also touches upon how to obtain a statement to differentiate these components and where the employee's own contribution should be declared.

Well u will get a statement. int on employer contributions and er contribution is under salaries and inter on own contribution IFOS.
