Quick Summary
As a sole proprietor in the UK, you generally don't need to formally register your business name. However, for statutory compliance and to open a business bank account, you will likely need to obtain registrations such as GST or an MSME registration, depending on your specific circumstances and location. These registrations serve as proof of business for banking purposes.
Proprietorship firm don't have to register, but you have to open current account in your firm name for that you required any two business proof. one you can take shop & establishment licence if applicable in your state or MSME registration or GST registration as per applicability.
